The second webinar of the Teaching inclusively in 2020: COVID-19, remote learning and universal design for learning series was titled Thinking about online learning as online and for everybody.
Thespeaker was Dave Cormier, change leader, educational researcher, and learning community advocate who speaks and writes on open education, Rhizomatic Learning, MOOCs (Massive/Open Online Courses), and the impact of technology on the future of higher education.
Summary of the presentation:
The online student might be the exact same student you are working with face to face, but once they come online, new factors come into play. An understanding of the implications of the web and how your participants are affected by the space is essential to an equitable and effective learning experience.
