Canwest Global System Scholarship
Each year, a Canadian student with a physical disability who wishes to study in the field of journalism or radio/television broadcasting in a recognized Canadian university or college, is granted a scholarship and internship valued at $15 000. This scholarship covers the tuition fees and instructional supplies. The summer internship will take place over a four-month period at the Global Television Network station located in Don Mills, Ontario. To be eligible for this scholarship/internship program, applicants must hold Canadian citizenship status, suffer from a physical disability, and have completed secondary studies with an academic standing which meet the admission criteria for the journalism or radio/television broadcasting program. To apply, candidates must send the following documents:
– Completed application form;
– Medical certificate issued by a physician, describing the disability;
– Copy of academic transcript;
– Letter in which the applicants describe their motivation to embrace a career in the field of radio/television broadcasting, as well as their career goals;
– Three letters of recommendation from persons others than relatives.
