Paratransit – Montreal
The Société des Transports de Montréal (STM) is responsible for public paratransit in the region of Montréal. The steps to follow in order to subscribe to this service are simply to complete the application form downloadable from the STM website and send it either by email to transport.adapte@stm.info or by fax at (514) 280-5317.
A map showing the public places accessible by paratransit as well as all forms enabling users to stay updated about the service are available on the STM website. Reservations can be made online, through the same STM website or by calling (514) 280-8211.
Before making a reservation online, users must create a profile on the STM website. To create a profile, users will need to enter the customer number and password initially received from the STM. It is important to specify the type of transportation needed at the time of the reservation. Itineraries are given priority according to requests and importance of requests. The delay for reserving regular type transportation (fixed schedule and destinations) is 4 weeks, while the delay for occasional transportation is from 3 days to 24 hours before the scheduled pick-up. Advance requests for transportation must be placed 7 days before the anticipated outing. Users can be accompanied by children aged 14 or under. Users planning to be accompanied by a service dog or guide dog must notify the STM at the time of the reservation. Dogs must be able to travel in the front or the back of taxis and must be tied while traveling on minibuses. The paratransit fare chart can be viewed on the STM website.
The STM transportation network offers access to more than 150 low-floor buses and to metro stations (Lionel-Groulx, Berri-UQAM, Cartier, de la Concorde and Montmorency). For any information concerning paratransit in the Montreal region, please call (514) 280-8211 or visit the following address:
