Paratransit – Larentians

In the Laurentians, two companies are identified as providers of paratransit: Transport adapté et collectif MRC Rive-Nord and Réseau de transport adapté de Saint-Jérôme. 

 

Transport adapté et collectif MRC Rive-Nord

 

Transport adapté et collectif MRC Rive-Nord covers the following municipalities: Prévost, Saint-Colomban, Saint-Hyppolite and Sainte-Sophie.  Service is offered 7 days a week.  This company provides transportation to St-Jérôme passengers traveling towards the other municipalities mentioned above.   Reservations must be made by phone 24 hours in advance from Monday to Friday. Saturday, Sunday and Monday transportation must be reserved by Friday, 2 p.m. at the latest.  The provider must be informed of reservation cancellations at least two hours in advance; otherwise penalties may be imposed.

Réseau de transport adapté de Saint-Jérôme

The Réseau de transport adapté de Saint-Jérôme is administered by the Centre intermunicipal de Transport des Laurentides (CITL). To be admissible, applicants must first meet the eligibility criteria, then complete the application form (to be completed by the applicant and a health professional).  .  The decision regarding the application will be communicated to the applicant at the latest within 45 days following reception of the documents. Users may be granted the right to be accompanied during transportation. The authorized accompaniment categories are as follows: compulsory, optional and related to parental responsibilities.  Transportation service is offered 7 days a week; from 7 a.m. to 11 p.m.

Reservations can be made by calling (450) 433-4000 or the toll-free number 1-877-433-4004 (for Oka and Saint-Placide users). Office hours are Monday to Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Tuesday to Friday transportation reservations must be made at the latest by 12 p.m. the day before the scheduled transportation, while Saturday, Sunday and Monday transportation must be reserved by 10 a.m. at the latest.   

The CITL must be informed of service cancellations as soon as possible, otherwise a penalty will be imposed upon the user to cover travel expenses.  Certain types of trips are not taken into consideration by the CITL. They are among others:

–       Trips between two facilities of the health or social services network;

–       School trips at the primary or secondary level;

–       Repetitive trips to health network facilities.  

           

To be eligible for the reduced fare, users must obtain an OPUS card with photo.  Such cards can be obtained at the following points of sales:
